Testimonial – Mark

The checklist of your average male in their 40s.

Flat out in work? Check

Young Kids? Check

Financial worries? Check.

Low in energy? Check.

The list goes on.

All legit and all too common first world problems, and Mark is no different.

“I was 44 years old and I had gotten to a point where I was doing little to no exercise although I was living a busy life.  I felt I was carrying a little too much weight retaining fluid and was feeling tired and sluggish and not eating very well.”

Leaner, Stronger, Healthier, Happier

The penny dropped, and a conscious decision was made with himself to get the ball rolling.

“I decided I needed to call “bullshit” on myself and get myself back in shape.  I’m not getting any younger and despite not drinking very much and not smoking I needed to think of my long term health and fitness.”

“My advice to anyone is find your real reasons for making the changes and then totally commit to them in your own mind, make a personal contract with yourself and then totally commit to the idea.”

Mark put as much vigour and determination that made him successful in other aspects of his life, knowing before a sweat left his body where he knew he wanted to be.

“I think it is actually the biggest obstacle for everybody was getting my head in the right place.  I really believe that you have the best intentions in the works and a desire to make changes but if you are not really committed within your own mind for yourself, you will start to slide before you really ever get going.”

As important as having a goal is, setting the behaviours to achieve it are building blocks to success, but as unpredictable as life is the time is never right. The red carpet doesn’t roll out on a January night when you leave the warmth of your house to go for a run.

“I think it’s important to set the goal but realise that the road may be winding and bumpy on the way but if you are committed to yourself you will find a way though even when the going is tough.”

And like the old phrase you get what you put in.

“I have dropped a substantial body fat percentage I think coming up to 10% now.  My body has changed quite dramatically and I feel really good about it. I have three sons 14/16 & 21 and at this point I’m fitter and stronger than the lot of them.”

We all have the same 24 hours in the day, it’s how you spend them.
